Northeast Audubon Society Offering Student Conservation Camp Scholarships
|
The Northeast Pennsylvania Audubon Society announced scholarship opportunities for three qualified teens to attend residential conservation camps in the summer. April 30 is the deadline for applications.
One student will have an opportunity to attend a two-week interdisciplinary residential program at The Environmental Studies Summer Youth Institute at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York’s Finger Lakes region, on Seneca Lake.
The program offers opportunities to explore the scientific, social, and humanistic perspectives of environmental issues. This experience is open to junior and senior high-school students, at least age 16.
Two students, ages 14-17, can also receive a camp scholarship to attend a week at this summer’s Pennsylvania Wildlife Leadership Academy. The camp scholarships are available to boys and girls from Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike and Susquehanna counties.
Applications are available online. Call the Audubon Society at 570-253-9250 for more information.
