DEP Holds Adaptation To Climate Change Meeting March 24

The Department of Environmental Protection announced it will hold an Adaptation To Climate Change meeting on March 24 starting at 10:00 in the Auditorium of the Rachel Carson Building in Harrisburg.
The goal of the meeting is to launch adaptation strategy discussions to enable the Commonwealth to better understand and then plan for the challenges resulting from climate impacts, including warmer temperatures, longer growing season and more severe storm events that are occurring now.
Adaptation is necessary to help human and natural systems respond to the effects of climate change that have begun to appear. The adaptation planning process will bring together key public and private stakeholders with expertise in natural resources, public health and safety, infrastructure, tourism and outdoor recreation.
Questions concerning this meeting should be directed to Kim Hoover, Office of Energy and Technology Deployment, P. O. Box 8772, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8772, 717-772-5161 or by sending email to:  khoover@state.pa.us.
