Earth Day: D&H Distributing Rewards Eco-Conservative Technology Purchasers

Harrisburg-based D&H Distributing, the major North American computer products and consumer electronics distributor, has implemented its Earth Day 40th Anniversary promotion, running from January 1 to April 16, which has to date generated the sale of 1.5 million environmentally-friendly technology products.
The program culminates with a Grand Prize award of a Hybrid automobile on Earth Day, April 22, to one qualifying D&H customer. So far more than 1,900 customers have qualified.
The program is designed to drive the proliferation of ecologically conservative technology systems in small business environments across the country. National premier sponsors of the Earth Day anniversary program include Intel, Lenovo and Samsung.
"Rather than create promotions that simply drive revenue, the D&H team wanted to encourage responsibility," said Jeff Davis, senior vice president of sales at D&H Distributing. "Our customers resell these technologies throughout the small business marketplace, helping to speed adoption of more energy-efficient infrastructures throughout the overall workplace. It also rewards manufacturers for producing conservative products and encourages proper recycling."
The distributor put additional emphasis on green technologies at its West Coast Technology Trade Show, which took place on March 4 in Industry Hills, CA. The event featured a Green Aisle with ecologically conservative products from vendors including Antec, Belkin, HP, Lenovo, Logitech and StarTech. One customer was awarded a gas-saving Vespa scooter as the event's "Passport" prize. Attendance for this show was up close to 48 percent over last year.
D&H's 2010 Earth Day promo is part of the company's ongoing "Go Green" initiative, which endorses environmentally responsible policies among its customers, its vendors, and within the company.
It includes off-site and in-house recycling, energy-efficient equipment at all four US warehouse locations, paper-reducing printing procedures, and tools that help resellers identify and market eco-friendly products.
Visit the D&H Go Green site for details. D&H has also launched a program with Engaged Recycling in which its customers can trade-in used product at the reseller's location in exchange for a rewards value.
