Schuylkill Watershed Congress Attracts Over 220 To Learn About Watershed Protection

The 2010 Schuylkill Watershed Congress earlier this month attracted a record 223 participants interested in learning more about protecting and restoring their watersheds.
This brings to over 523 participants in conferences dedicated to watershed protection so far just this year.
The Conference featured a keynote panel discussion with Michele Adams, Meliora Environmental Design, James A. Schmid, Ph. D., Schmid & Company, Inc., Consulting Ecologists, and John Wilmer, Environmental Attorney.  The presentation was titled “How to Challenge a Stormwater Permit and Win: A Look at the Crum Creek Neighbors Decision.”
The program also offered 28 concurrent and 6 poster sessions covering a broad range of watershed topics, and exhibits by watershed organizations, environmental consulting firms and government agencies.
Participants hailed from throughout the Schuylkill Watershed, across Pennsylvania and from as far away as Flemington, New Jersey; Wilmington, Delaware, Maryland; and Annandale, Virginia.
Again this year, the Conference was held at the Montgomery County Community College - West Campus, Pottstown.
