DEP To Hold Meeting On Chesapeake Bay Watershed Implementation Plan March 31
|
The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a meeting March 31 in Harrisburg to discuss the development of Watershed Implementation Plans by Pennsylvania and other Chesapeake Bay states and the District of Columbia.
The plans are a key component of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s development of a Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for the Chesapeake Bay.
The discussion will provide additional details about WIPs and Pennsylvania’s suggested approach that would focus on three core elements: supporting the implementation of advanced technologies; enhancing compliance efforts; and milestone implementation and tracking.
EPA has established a June deadline for a draft plan and the final plan is due in November.
The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Susquehanna Room of DEP’s Southcentral Regional Office, 909 Elmerton Ave., Harrisburg.
