Earth Day: Volunteers Wanted For PA CleanWays Cleanups In Armstrong, Perry Counties

PA CleanWays will hold a litter and illegal dump cleanup on Hemlock Road, South Bend Township in Armstrong County on May 1. Volunteers should meet at St. Jacob's United Church of Christ on Crooked Creek Road in South Bend at 8:30 a.m., rain date May 8.

PA CleanWays of Perry County is seeking volunteers are being sought to help remove trash and tires from three illegal dumpsites in the county. The cleanups include Hollow Road in Greenwood Township on April 21; Lower Bailey Road in Miller Township on April 28; and Little Boston Road in Penn Township on May 14. All cleanups will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Volunteers should dress for safety by wearing long pants/shirts and sturdy shoes. Youth volunteers ages 12-17 must complete a PA CleanWays-Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Volunteer Waiver Form with signed parental consent prior to participating. Safety vests, gloves, bags, lunch, and refreshments will be provided, and registration is strongly advised.
The cleanups are being organized by PA CleanWays-Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and PA CleanWays of Perry County and are funded by the Perry County Community Foundation – Perry County Community Discretionary Fund and the Utilities Programs, United States Department of Agriculture, an equal opportunity provider, employer, and lender.
