Wild Resource Festival May 1 At Tom Ridge Environmental Center

On May 1 the Tom Ridge Environmental Center in Erie will host a Wild Resource Festival to provide children, families, and wildlife enthusiasts with a chance to talk to the state’s leading scientists and get a front-row seat to view PA’s animals and plants.
Lots of fun activities are planned, including a chance to have your mystery insect identified, go on a butterfly walk, fish with the S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the research labs at the Tom Ridge Center, and plenty of guided field trips to Presque Isle. Educational programs and exhibits will also be available throughout the day from groups like the National Aviary, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Asbury Woods Nature Center, and many more. There will even be a visit from the Erie Zoo to show off some of their critters!
The Festival will start 10 a.m. and last until 5 p.m. Registration is not required.
For more information about this event, contact Deb Miller by sending email to: debmiller@state.pa.us.   For a full list of activities and exhibitors that will be attending, visit the Wild Resource Festival webpage.
