Environmental Synopsis Features Results Of Recent Poll On Environment

The April issue of the Environmental Synopsis newsletter included the results of a Muhlenberg-Morning Call poll which found 65 percent of those responding felt the environmental quality of life was good in Pennsylvania and 11 percent said it was excellent, with 24 percent saying it wasn't so good or poor. The same survey found 56 percent were not at all concerned with or not too concerned with the safety of their drinking water. The article noted 90.1 percent of those surveyed in an earlier poll found it was very important to have clean water in rivers and streams.
The Synopsis also included articles on: Energy Star appliance ratings, climate change, new California vehicle emission standards and more.
The next Environmental Issues Forum sponsored by the Committee will be on May 24 and will feature a presentation by the PA Environmental Council on its Green Business Program.
Rep. Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango) serves as Chair of the Committee and Sen. Ray Musto (D-Luzerne) serves as vice Chair.
