EPA completed construction at the Jacks Creek Superfund site, Lewistown, Mifflin County.

EPA is working with the scrap yard owner to turn over the wetlands area of the site to a nature conservancy group. Minor tasks remain, including reseeding, minor erosion-control measures and placing of visible barriers around the sediment basins to prevent dumping. Monitoring of the ground and surface water, fish and benthos are planned as part of the operation and maintenance activities at the site.
