Calendars House (May 24): House Bill 80 (Vitali-D-Delaware) expanding the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards and authorizing a carbon sequestration network. Senate (May 24): House Bill 687 (Dermody-D-Allegheny) adding upgrades to reduce water and wastewater consumption, production were included in changes to the law authorizing guaranteed energy savings contracts; Senate Bill 1176 (D.White-R-Indiana), Senate Bill 1196 (D.White), Senate Bill 1197 (D.White) requiring mining permit fees to be adopted by regulation. Committees House: the Finance Committee holds three public hearings on House Bill 2443 (Levdansky-D-Allegheny) imposing a natural gas production severance tax reserving funding for environmental and other programs and to balance the budget in Indiana, Williamsport and Shawnee on Delaware; the House Democratic Policy Committee hearing on Marcellus Shale drilling water quality issues in Uniontown. Senate: the Senate Republican Policy Committee hearing on Marcellus Shale Gas Pipeline issues in Williamsport. Bills Introduced The following bills of interest were introduced this week-- Firing Ranges: Senate Bill 1345 (Wozniak-D-Cambria) establishing a Task Force On Lead Management and Remediation at Firing Ranges.
