Stakeholders Invited To Meetings On Fishing, Boating Access In May, June
|

The Fish and Boat Commission, in cooperation with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, has completed the first-ever Pennsylvania Fishing and Boating Access Strategy.
The Strategy outlines a coordinated and planned approach for the Commission and DCNR to make better decisions related to fishing, boating, access planning, development, and funding. In addition, the Strategy provides data on current access locations, fishing license sales, boating registrations, state owned land, stocked waters and more.
The project partners are hosting a series of stakeholder meetings around Pennsylvania to present the Strategy to interested groups and to gather additional data on access needs. The meetings have been scheduled as follows:
-- May 17 – 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Vernon Township Municipal Building, 16678 McMath Ave., Meadville;
-- May 21 – 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office of Westmoreland County, 214 Donohoe Road, Greensburg;
-- May 25 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Heim Biology and Chemistry Building at Lycoming College, 700 College Place, Williamsport. The Heim Building is located at the corner of Mulberry Street and Washington Boulevard (number 5 on the campus map; and
-- June 3 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Fish and Boat Commission Headquarters, 1601 Elmerton Ave, Harrisburg.
You, or your representative, to attend one of these meetings. Attendees will receive a copy of the Strategy.
