Get On The Water With Paddle Penn's Landing's Kayaking And New Swan Boats
|
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council and Skyline Attractions are adding pedal Swan Boats to the popular supervised kayaking in the Delaware River.
The Kayaks and Swan Boats will be available in the Penn's Landing Marina, located on Columbus Boulevard at Walnut Street, through October 3. Each activity costs $5 per person. Hours of operation are Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be six solo kayaks and one tandem kayak available, and 14 swan boats (2 people per boat).
The kayak program offers Philadelphians and visitors (age 12 and up) the opportunity to paddle around the Penn's Landing Marina under the supervision of trained kayak staff. Guests are provided with an overview and safety instructions, and are helped into boats. Swan boats, which are foot-pedaled, are an option for families with younger children who want a more leisurely experience on the water.
The experience is also infused with fun facts about the Delaware River's history and ecology. This program aims to connect guests to the river, so that they appreciate the Delaware River as a natural resource and become better environmental stewards. Both programs are professionally operated by Skyline Attractions.

Public Programming at Penn's Landing would not be possible without the continued support of corporate partners such as PECO, Verizon, Pennsylvania Lottery, Live Nation, the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company and the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, all of whom are committed to serving the Greater Philadelphia community.
