PUC Holds Summer Reliability Assessment May 20

The Public Utility Commission will hold its annual Summer Reliability Assessment meeting, which provides a snapshot of various conditions that may affect electric supply, price and service reliability for the upcoming summer, will be held in Harrisburg.
The Summer Reliability Assessment meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. May 20, in Hearing Room 1 of the Commonwealth Keystone Building. Representatives from the PUC, Energy Association of Pennsylvania, PJM Capacity Adequacy Planning Division, Electric Power Generation Association and Pennsylvania One Call System Inc. will provide information.
Topics that will be covered during the meeting include: forecasted load and capacity; generation and transmission for summer 2010; environmental considerations; plant additions and retirements; and the perspectives of electric distribution companies.
