Environmental Issues Forum Set For May 24 On Green Business Program

The Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee is holding an Environmental Issues Forum on May 24 at 12:00 noon in Room 205 of the Matthew J. Ryan Building.
            The guest presenter will be Patrick Starr, Senior Vice-president of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council's Southeast Region. Starr will be joined by PEC President and CEO Don Welsh and representatives of at least one company participating in the Green Business Program. PEC is overseeing the Green Business Program.
            The program features a public promise/commitment made by companies, totaling 100 presently, to change their daily business practices to reduce impacts on the environment. The intent is to save money, provide a competitive advantage and networking opportunities for the participating companies, and benefit the community and the environment.
            Rep. Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango) serves as Chair and Sen. Ray Musto (D-Luzerne) serves as Vice Chair.
