ClearWater Conservancy May 27 Program On Use Of Federal Stimulus Funding

On May 27,the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County’s Heritage 1 committee and ClearWater Conservancy will be co-hosting a presentation titled “A Year of PA Recovery – The Energy and Environmental Investment Portfolio,” a Department of Environmental Protection update on federal stimulus funds used for energy and environmental projects.
Cathy Curran Myers, Special Assistant for PA Recovery, will share the water, wastewater, storm water, energy efficiency and alternative energy projects that were launched through DEP and its partners in the last year with federal stimulus funding.
Her review will analyze the extent to which green and innovative projects were solicited, and the tension in ARRA between sustainable green projects and "shovel-ready projects".  She will show where the dollars were invested, how DEP counted the impact on jobs, performance measures and accountability. Myers will also preview the remaining programs that have not opened yet, and outline some of the new aspects of ARRA.
This presentation will be held May 27 at the Patton Township Municipal Building from 8:15 till 9 am. Complimentary breakfast drinks and snacks will be served.
