Senate Environmental Committee Meets On Clean Water Fund Bill, Erosion, Drilling Regs.

On June 8 the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee meets to consider bills the Clean Water Fund, mapping workable coal seams, recycling text books and final changes to erosion and Total Dissolved Solids discharge regulations related to oil and gas drilling.
The bills include: Senate Bill 1303 (MJ White-R-Venango) authorizing the use of the Clean Water Fund to finance Black Fly and West Nile Virus suppression, Senate Bill 1374 (MJ White-R-Venango) requiring DCNR's Bureau of Topographic and Geologic Survey to update workable coal seams annually, Senate Bill 1374 (Musto-D-Luzerne) requiring the recycling of textbooks.
The Committee is also expected to ask for a two week extension of its review time on final regulations making changes to erosion and sedimentation control requirements and Total Dissolved Solids discharges standards related to oil and gas drilling. (5/24/10 Pa Environment Digest)
