PUC Sets Two Hearings In Susquehanna County On Marcellus Pipeline Application

The Public Utility Commissionhas scheduled two hearings to receive public comment on the proposal by Laser Marcellus Gathering Co. to become a public utility under the Public Utility Code. (formal notice)

            Administrative Law Judge Susan D. Colwell will conduct the hearings at:
-- July 7: Great Bend Hose Company No. 1 Inc., Corner of Church and Tannery Streets, Great Bend starting at 1:00 p.m., Pa; and
 -- July 7: The American Legion Gardner – Warner Post 154, 14515 State Road 3001, Montrose, Pa starting at 7:00 p.m.
             On January 19, Laser Marcellus filed for a certificate of public convenience to begin to offer gathering and transporting or conveying service by pipeline to the public in the Townships of Apolacon, Choconut, Forest Lake, Great Bend, Jessup, Liberty, Middletown and New Milford in Susquehanna County. The company has applied to be a public utility under the Public Utility Code, Title 66 of Pennsylvania's Consolidated Statues.
            Members of the public are welcome to attend the hearings and provide comments. Customer testimony will become part of the record on which the PUC will issue its final decision. The PUC and state Office of Consumer Advocate offer tips on how to participate. They include:
-- Prepare what you are going to say beforehand. Even though it is not required, you may want to write out your statement, which can be read.
-- Bring copies. If you have a written statement you would like to give to the judge as evidence, please bring two copies for the court reporter and several copies for the other participants.
-- Plan to be questioned. Parties in the case may want to ask you a question to clarify something you said.
