DEP Sets Climate Change Work Group Meetings Through End Of 2010

The Department of Environmental Protection Climate Change Advisory Committee will hold several adaptation Work Group meetings through the remainder of 2010.

            The meeting schedule is:

Natural Resources Working Group - meetings will be held at the DCNR Bureau of Topographic and Geological Survey, 3240 Schoolhouse Road, Middletown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- August 5, October 15, December 8;

Public Health and Safety Working Group - meetings will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the 12th Floor Conference Room, Rachel Carson State Office Building -- July 27, September 29, October 26;

Infrastructure Working Group - the July 12 and September 13 meetings will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the 12th Floor Conference Room, Rachel Carson State Office Building; the November 8 meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Susquehanna Room, Fish and Boat Commission Headquarters, Harrisburg;

Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Working Group - meetings will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Delaware Room, Fish and Boat Commission Headquarters - July 20, September 21, November 16.

            Each Adaptation Working Group will work to identify vulnerabilities to climate change; adaptation efforts already underway; and practical actions the Commonwealth and other stakeholders can undertake to address the risks of climate change. They will also work to share information and knowledge across impacted areas and identify opportunities for collaboration.
