Help Wanted: TU Eastern Abandoned Mine Program Field Coordinator

Trout Unlimited is seeking an Eastern Abandoned Mine Program Field Coordinator to help implement the West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Initiative.
            The Eastern Abandoned Mine Program field coordinator is a full-time position based out of TU’s Lock Haven, PA field office. While the field coordinator will report to the EAMP manager for daily work tasks, this position will be supervised by the EAMP director. 
            The field coordinator will also work closely with local volunteer and partner leaders on project implementation and will provide assistance as a team member for various projects and to other EAMP staff. TU offers excellent benefits and a flexible and collegial work environment. The field coordinator must be entrepreneurial, well- organized, and a problem-solver.
            Duties: Fish and macroinvertebrate surveys, evaluation of streams and habitat conditions for fish restoration potential, and water quality monitoring, Technical report generation, Data entry and database management, ArcGIS mapping, Science-based research, AMD education event coordination, Fundraising, Intern and seasonal employee supervision.
            Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in aquatic biology or closely related field, Professional work experience conducting fish, fish habitat, and macroinvertebrate surveys, as well as water quality monitoring, Ability to interpret and analyze data related to aquatic ecology and fishery biology,  Working knowledge of ArcGIS software, and Microsoft Excel and Access programs, Excellent written and oral communication skills, Willingness to work independently and travel throughout the state as necessary, Passion for restoring trout and their watersheds.
