Pennsylvania’s Wild Resources Symposium Scheduled For August 17

Educators are invited to broaden their knowledge of Pennsylvania’s native flora and fauna at the Pennsylvania’s Wild Resources Symposium, August 17 being held at Lutherlyn, in Prospect, Pa.
            The symposium will feature research and protection programs and allow teachers to meet environmental education resource providers.
            Talks will include Native Mushrooms: Species, Diversity and Trends; Bald Eagles in PA, and Pennsylvania’s Invasive Plants.  Experts in these areas will be on hand to address questions and for further discussion of these topics.  A Fungi Foray walk and Plant Prowl hike will round out the event.
            The symposium is a cooperative of the Western Pennsylvania Nature Center Roundtable, which includes Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, Lutherlyn Environmental Program, Independence Conservancy, Jennings Environmental Center, Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve, Regional EE Center, Fern Hollow Nature Center, Crooked Creek ELC, Beaver County Conservation District, the PA Center for Environmental Education, and other nature centers in western Pennsylvania.
