Civilian Conservation Corps Reunion Set For August 21
|

An annual Civilian Conservation Corps reunion will be held on August 21, at Promised Land State Park in Pike County. All CCC members, their families and friends are invited to attend. The afternoon portion of the reunion is open to the general public.
This is the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the CCC camp S-139 at Promised Land. Those interested are encouraged to join the celebration of the efforts of former members of “Camp Pocono” as CCC boys from around the United States gather for a day of activities.
Registration of CCC members starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Falls Pavilion. The formal program is scheduled from 11:00 to 1:00, by invitation only. The general public is welcome to attend afternoon programming which begins at 1:30 p.m. and includes a keynote speaker, Mike Gadomski, representing WILD PA. The afternoon will also include a tour of the CCC museum and an open blacksmith shop.
