Senate, House Agriculture Committees To Hold Hearing On Chesapeake Bay Cleanup

The Senate and House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committees will hold a hearing on August 18 as part of Ag Progress Days in State College on the status of commitments to reduce nutrient and sediment flowing to the Chesapeake Bay. Scheduled to provide comments are--
-- Bruce McPheron, PhD, Dean Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences;
-- Secretary Russell Redding, Department of Agriculture;
-- John Hines, DEP Deputy Secretary for Water Management;
-- Denise Coleman, PA State Conservationist, USDA NRCS;
-- Marel Raub, PA Director, Chesapeake Bay Commission;
-- Matthew Ehrhart, PA Director, Chesapeake Bay Foundation;
-- John Bell, PA Farm Bureau; and
-- Donald McNutt, Lancaster County Conservation District.
Rep. Mike Hanna (D-Centre) serves as Majority Chair of the House Committee and Rep. John Maher (R-Allegheny) serves as Minority Chair.
Sen. Mike Brubaker (R-Lancaster) serves as Majority Chair of the Senate Committee and Sen. Mike O'Pake (D-Berks) serves as Minority Chair.
