Westmoreland County Forestry Workshop September 25

The Westmoreland County Conservation District is sponsoring a Forestry I Workshop on September 25 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the District Office in Greensburg and in the adjacent, natural wooded area of Ann Rudd Saxman Nature Park.

In another month or so, as leaves across western Pennsylvania begin to change colors, it will be a perfect time to lace up your hiking boots and join Westmoreland Conservation District Forester Tony Quadro for a fun and informative workshop on trees, woodlots, and forests.
Participants will be introduced to basic tree identification, common forestry terms, and methods for measuring timber.
This workshop is sponsored by the Westmoreland Conservation District and the Westmoreland Woodlands Improvement Association.  Cost of the workshop is $10.  A reduced rate of $5 is offered for members of the Westmoreland Woodlands Improvement Association.            No prior experience or knowledge of forestry is necessary, but registration by September 23 is required.  Interested persons can register and pay online
