In celebration of America Recycles Day - November 15, EPA’s Public Information Center in Philadelphia hosted an open house featuring some of the area's promising young designers.
"Ex trash aganza," the current exhibit in the Public Information Center, looks at creative recycling by showcasing original fashions made of recycled materials. The student designers were recognized by Regional Administrator Donald S. Welsh and talked about their creations. The exhibit runs through Dec. 31.
The Philadelphia Center City lunch-time crowd was also treated to recycling fun and information outside the regional office. A float that featured an aluminum replica of Liberty Place and other Philadelphia landmarks was created by students from Philadelphia's High School for Creative and Performing Arts. Curby the Recycle Bucket and mascot for the Philadelphia Office of Recycling was also on hand, passing out information and posing for pictures.
