DOE Now Offering Energy Savings Assessment, Technology Grants

The federal Department of Energy is offering two funding opportunities, one for larger companies interesting in assessing ways they can save energy and a second program for glass manufacturers to improve their environmental performance. Plant Wide Assessment Program Grants of up to $100,000 are available to industries to identify energy efficiency opportunities in industrial plants and a comprehensive list of energy efficiency actions they can take to save 10 percent of their purchased energy use. Applications are due May 3. The Glass Industry of the Future Project will provide funding for research and development of technologies which reduce energy consumption, reduce environmental impacts and enhance the competitiveness of the domestic glass industry. Awards of from $1 to 3 million are anticipated. Applications are due April 1. |
