Pocono Northeast RC&D: Household Water Well Assistance Program

The Pocono Northeast Resource Conservation & Development Council is unveiling the Household Water Well System Loan Program for homeowners within the Council’s service area.
            Applications will be review every two weeks beginning April 25.
            The program provides education, resources, and low-interest loans to low to moderate income homeowners residing in rural areas needing to service, repair, or upgrade their household water well system including new well construction, if necessary.   
            The Household Water Well Systems Loan program will provide a loan not to exceed $11,000 per household at 1 percent interest rate for up to a maximum of 20 years. 
            Reside in the following counties:  Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Pike, Schuylkill, and/or Wayne counties.
            A series of information meetings have been sit up to answer questions about the program, all beginning at 6:30 p.m.:
-- March 14: Monroe County Conservation District Office, 8050 Running Valley Road, Stroudsburg;
-- March 21: Lake Township Building, 488 State Route 29, Harvey's Lake;
-- March 22: Columbia County AG Center, 702  Sawmill Road, Bloomsburg; and
-- March 23: Wayne County Park Street Complex, 648 Part Street, Honesdale.
