Farmers Market BMP Workshop In Cumberland County March 29

The Capital Resource Conservation & Development Area Council is hosting “Organizing and Operating Farmers Markets: Examples of What Works” on March 29 to offer an opportunity for farmers market managers and representatives to review and identify new issues and ideas.
Led by John Berry, Ag Marketing Educator with Penn State Cooperative Extension in Lehigh County, this interactive session will provide the opportunity to learn what has worked for others, ways to ensure market success, and how to minimize conflicts.
Consumers, local officials and the mass media are realizing more and more the value of farmers markets for a community. Many are founding new farmers markets or bringing new support to existing ones.
These new and existing markets can benefit greatly from a review and discussion of Best-Practices for a growing agricultural sector.
This free event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Capital RC&D office, 401 E. Louther St. Suite 307, Carlisle, PA.  Space is limited.
For more information or to register, contact Cheryl Burns, Ag Outreach Specialist for Capital RC&D, by sending email to: cburns@capitalrcd.org or phone 717-241-4361 to ensure you are able to take advantage of this marketing exchange opportunity.
