Natural Gas Exposition In, Around State Capitol April 5-6

House Majority Whip Stan Saylor (R-York) this week announced a natural gas exposition will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on April 5, in Room 60 East Wing at the Capitol in Harrisburg.
Rep. Saylor also announced natural gas vehicles will be on display from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 6, on Commonwealth Avenue directly behind the Capitol.
The display will coincide with the re-introduction of a package of legislation called "Marcellus Works," which is designed to secure Pennsylvania's energy future and create thousands of new jobs by creating incentives for the use of the clean natural gas which is plentiful in Pennsylvania's large Marcellus Shale formation.
"The world's energy supply remains volatile," said Rep. Saylor. "Pennsylvania has an opportunity to take the lead in securing a stable energy future. By providing incentives for mass transit agencies and private fleets to convert to natural gas and for the construction of natural gas fueling stations along Pennsylvania's major travel corridors, we will encourage the use of this clean and abundant energy source and we will help create thousands of much-needed jobs in the process."
Rep. Saylor urged members of the public to visit the exposition on April 5 to learn about the many economic and environmental benefits of natural gas.
"Natural gas emissions produce less particulate matter and less carbon monoxide than gasoline emissions," Rep. Saylor said. "In addition, natural gas is currently $1 to $1.50 cheaper per gallon than gasoline. We need to examine this alternative and I strongly urge the public to stop by the exposition to learn more."
