Celebrate Mother-Earth Days By Planting Trees, Canoe Trip Along Swatara Creek May 7

|
Celebrate Earth Day, Mother’s Day, and the start of spring with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation! We've got two great events to choose from, both of which are free for all CBF members and their family, friends, and co-workers! Canoe Trip
Are you the seafaring type? Join us and other CBF members and friends as we paddle and explore the Swatara Creek near Hershey, Pa, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
This trip will be hosted by CBF’s own Susquehanna Watershed Education Program. The group will meet in Hershey and paddle to Hummelstown. Group will meet at the put-in site and shuttle to the take-out. Paddle instruction will be offered for those who are first time paddlers.
All canoes and paddling equipment will be provided (note: unfortunately, due to insurance limitations, we cannot allow people to bring their own boats or lifejackets.)
Tree Planting
Don't have a set of sea legs? Help restore a streamside forest by planting trees with the Tri-County Conewago Creek Association and CBF in the Conewago Creek watershed near Elizabethtown, Pa, from 9 a.m. - noon.
This will be part one of a two-phased buffer planting that will ultimately total about 25 acres along the stretch of the main stem Conewago Creek between Route 743 and Route 283.
Reserve your spot on the canoe trip or join the tree planting by going online. Questions about this event may be directed to Kim Patten at 717-234-5550 or send email to: kpatten@cbf.org.
