Shenango River Watershed Conservation Plan Review Set for April 5, 7, and 13

The public is invited to provide comments on the Watershed Conservation Plan for the Shenango River watershed during public meetings on April 5 at Mercer County Cooperative Extension Office, April 7 at Neshannock High School Cafeteria, and April 13 at the St. Phillip Church Social Hall in Linesville.

The meetings will be held each evening from 7-9 p.m., and refreshments will be provided. Public comments on the plan will be accepted until May 20.

The conservation plan is a study of the environmental, recreational, cultural, and historical resources particular to the Shenango River watershed. The plan is being developed with the help of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s Watershed Assistance Center and the Shenango River watershed community. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provided funding for the plan through its Community Conservation Partnership Program.
