The PA Association of Conservation Districts this week awarded more than $55,000 for 32 projects in 27 counties that promote water pollution prevention strategies through the Non-Point Source Pollution Prevention Educational Mini-Grant Program.
“Education serves as our first line of defense to prevent water pollution and we must continue to provide the funding in our local communities that allows us to provide this protection,” said Robert B. Maiden, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts. “Funding for this important program creates an avenue for the Conservation Districts to continue providing vital educational resources that keep our valuable water free of pollution ensuring the preservation of these resources for generations to come.”
Funding for the grants, up to $2,000 each, is provided through the Department of Environmental Protection under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
