Bills Introduced
The following bills of interest were introduced this week--
Alternative Energy Portfolio: House Bill 1692 (Moul-R-Adams) adding natural gas to the Tier I sources of energy under the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards.
Severance Tax: House Bill 1705 (Godshall-R-Montgomery) authorizing a severance tax on natural gas production to provide additional property tax relief. Dormant Wells: House Bill 1707 (Godshall-R-Montgomery) amends the Dormant Oil and Gas Well Act further providing for a trust for unknown owners.
Gas Well Impact Fee: House Bill 1715 (Ellis-R-Butler) establishing a Marcellus Shale gas well impact fee administered by the Public Utility Commission.
Gas Lease Indexing: House Bill 1726 (Matzie-D-Allegheny) to create a system for the indexing of natural gas leases by property address.
