Cong. Altmire To Moderate Educational Program On Marcellus Shale June 28

On June 28 U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-Washington) will host an Educational Evening with Marcellus Shale experts from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Community College of Allegheny County’s North Campus, located at 8701 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA.
            Congressman Altmire will moderate a panel of experts who will discuss a range of topics concerning the growth of the Marcellus Shale industry in western Pennsylvania.
            “The Marcellus Shale presents a wealth of opportunities for western Pennsylvania.  If it is developed in a safe and efficient manner, our region will benefit from economic growth and an influx of highly-skilled, well-paying jobs,” said Altmire. “I look forward to hearing from the experts and having a serious dialogue about what this resource means to our local economy and our country’s drive toward energy independence.”
            Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event is open to the public.  There will be limited time at the end of the discussion for questions from the audience.
            Panelists include: John Walliser from the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, Anthony Andrews from the Congressional Research Service, Rodger Keith from Penn State University, Kevin West from EQT Corporation, Mike Brinkmeyer from Keystone Midstream Services, George Jugovic Jr. from theDepartment of Environmental Protection, and a representative from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
