PA Environmental Council Appoints Janie French To Head Water Resources Team

Pennsylvania Environmental Council President Paul M. King Friday announced the promotion of Janie French to the position of Director of Water Programs statewide for the Council, effective immediately.
Janie will be responsible for leading and coordinating PEC’s statewide activities that advance stewardship and innovation for Pennsylvania’s water resources. She will serve as executive director of the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers and Save Water PA. She will continue to oversee water activities in the southwest as well.
Most recently, Janie was director of green infrastructure programs for PEC and has served as watershed program manager for 3 Rivers Wet Weather and PA outreach team leader for the Canaan Valley Institute.
Janie is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and will be based in Harrisburg.
Rebecca Kennedy is appointed the Director of Water Programs, Southeast and will be based in Philadelphia.
She will lead and coordinate programs designed to reduce the impacts of urban stormwater in metropolitan Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley. Specific initiatives include green infrastructure project development, education and policy change.
Rebecca, formerly the watershed specialist for the Lehigh County Conservation District, earned a degree in geology from Barnard College and a masters degree in water resources from the University of New Mexico.
Both Janie and Rebecca will report to Patrick Starr, Executive Vice President, who will provide oversight for PEC’s water activities.
