College & University Recycling Coalition Announces Webinar Series

The College & University Recycling Coalition Tuesday announced the schedule for its series of 2012 educational webinars, sponsored by Alcoa Foundation and Keep America Beautiful.
            CURC webinars feature recognized collegiate and industry recycling experts covering a range of topics related to sustainable materials management. 
            The 2012 schedule presents a balanced menu of topics to serve all CURC members, whether they are just beginning a recycling program or fine-tuning an existing one. Join CURC for an exciting year of discussion and learning, as it addresses some of the most pressing issues in collegiate recycling. 
            “Our partnership with Keep America Beautiful and CURC is a perfect way to engage campus-based recycling professionals in the latest trends for recycling and reducing waste,” said Paula Davis, President, Alcoa Foundation. “Even small, impactful changes can lead to significant improvements for the environment.”
            All webinars are free to registered participants. The schedule (all presentations take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST, unless otherwise noted) and topics are as follows:
-- March 8: Purchasing Processing Equipment and Vehicles for College Recycling Operations
-- May 10: Recycling Education and Awareness – Tools, Tips and Ideas for Campus and Community Outreach;
-- July 12: Business of Recycling: Contracts, Pricing, Financing and Budgeting;
-- September 13: Composting: Technology and Logistics of Handling Food Waste in Dining Halls and at Special Events; and
-- November 8: Measurement and Verification: The Role of Recycling in Existing Sustainability Rating Systems.
