Phipps Conservatory Hosting A 10-Session Permaculture Design Course

The Phipps Conservatory and Botanic Gardens in Pittsburgh is hosting it second annual Permaculture Design Certificate course in February, March and April.
            Permaculture is a systems thinking design approach for creating abundant, thriving communities and landscapes that work as nature does.  Class work will be augmented with trips to local permaculture sites during this 6 weekend intensive permaculture design and practice course. 
            Participants can earn an internationally recognized design certificate while learning how to create a better, more sustainable world.
            Instructors include: Darrell Frey, Three Sisters Permaculture, Juliette Jones, Pittsburgh Permaculture, and Elizabeth Lynch, Three Sisters Permaculture.
            Course topics include: Permaculture Ethics & Principles; Group Projects & Design Charettes; Observation & Ecological Design; Greenhouse & Bioshelter Design; Site Analysis & Assessment; Edible Forest Gardens; Water Harvesting; Natural Building; Compost & Soil Building; Transition Town Movement; and Mapping, Surveying, & Presentation.
            The course sessions will be held: February 18, 26; March 3, 4, 24, 25; April 1, 15, 28, 29 at the Phipps Garden Center and off-site locations.
