DCNR To Help Celebrate National Trails Day June 2
|
In conjunction with the American Hiking Society, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will host a number of events on June 2 in honor of National Trails Day.
The events look to bring outdoor enthusiasts across the state together to celebrate Pennsylvania’s magnificent trail system and its hundreds of supporters and volunteers.
Over 2,000 nationwide events will take place including trail maintenance, hiking, paddling, biking, horseback riding, bird watching, running, trail celebrations and more.
Long-hikers and evening strollers alike are encouraged to experience, appreciate, and share the natural places we cherish by connecting with local outdoor clubs, businesses, community groups, and parks and recreation departments as well as state and federal land managing agencies.
Those interested can join DCNR and dozens of sponsors on a National Trails Day event. Hikers can also share what they’re doing and publicize their own National Trails Day event by visiting here, registering, and logging on to participate.
