Pocono Forest & Water Conservation Assistance Mini-Grants Program

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council has been awarded a grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to administer the 2012 Pocono Forest and Waters CLI Conservation Assistance Grant program.
This program will provide mini-grants of $2,000 to $20,000 to projects within the Pocono Forest and Waters Conservation Landscape that support and advance the initiative’s goals and priority areas.  Priority will be given to requests that support the Connecting Nature and Commerce communities.
A total of $100,000 in grant funding is available.  All mini-grants require  a 50/50 match.  PEC and DCNR encourage any municipality, council of governments, registered Pennsylvania non-profits, county conservation districts, or learning institutions to  consider projects that may fit the grant criteria.
Projects must be located within the Pocono Forest & Waters Conservation Landscape which includes Carbon, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, or Wayne Counties.
Interested applicants may begin now to plan their application using the following Conservation Assistance Program Goals and Priority Areas for guidance.
The grant application and instructions will be available to download at the PEC website on May 30.   Applications are due July 15.
