The following bills of interest saw action this week in the House and Senate-- House Lyme Disease: House Resolution 720 (Hess-R-Bedford) designating May as Lyme Disease Awareness Month was adopted by the House.

Storage Tanks: Senate Bill 1398 (Yudichak-D-Luzerne) providing for an extension of the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Program was amended and reported from the Senate Appropriations Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action. Capital Budget: Senate Bill 1480 (Corman-R-Centre) providing for the 2012-13 Capital Budget was reported out of the Senate Appropriations Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action. A summary and Senate Fiscal Note are available. Billboards: Senate Bill 477 (Browne-R-Lehigh) providing for compelled removal of noncomplying billboards was Tabled.
Flood Damage: House Bill 1913 (Culver-R-Northumberland) authorizing counties and school district to provide property tax abatement for properties damaged in September's flooding was reported from the Senate Finance Committee and is on the Senate Calendar for action. This is part of the House Republican flood relief package and identical to Senate Bill 1267 passed as part of the Senate flood relief package.
