Join REI And Friends Of The Wissahickon For National Trails Day, June 2

On June 2 the Friends of the Wissahickon will once again join in this nation-wide effort to raise awareness of and care for the trails in Wissahickon Valley Park in Montgomery County with the help of REI of Conshohocken.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of National Trails Day, sponsored every year on the first Saturday in June by the American Hiking Society.
For over ten years, REI of Conshohocken has joined FOW on its monthly workdays in the Wissahickon, where they have helped with projects such as clearing trails and removing invasive plants.
On National Trails Day, they will be performing invasive plant removal and trail maintenance at the Andorra Natural Area. FOW is rebuilding the trail system in this area and need volunteers to help.
Trail work begins at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 12:30 p.m. Register with FOW Volunteer Coordinator Dan Mercer by sending email to: mercer@fow.org.
