Hopewell Big Woods Educators' Workshop June 14 In Pottstown

The Hopewell Big Woods Partnership invites all public, private and home school teachers, environmental educators and scout troop leaders who work with 6th through 12th grade students to attend this new one-day workshop about the special people and places in the Hopewell Big Woods. 
            The workshop will be held June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Welkinweir, 1368 Prizer Road, Pottstown, Pa.
            Based on Environment and Ecology, Language Arts and History academic standards, this workshop will focus on the following:
-- The plant and animal species and habitats of the Hopewell Big Woods
-- The importance of stewardship and sustainability in protecting the environment
-- The cultural and historical significance of this part of Pennsylvania
-- Introduce educators to the available resources and field trip possibilities within the area.
            The $10 price of the workshop includes meals, classroom resources and Act 48 Professional Education Hours.  To register, visit the GreenValleys Association Calendar webpage by June 1.
