Rising Gasoline Prices Triggering Behavior Change According to Poll

A poll released this week by IssuesPA found 71 percent of those asked said higher gas prices are causing a hardship. The surprise was they reported changing their behavior in response--

· 72 percent were shopping around for the best price

· 59 percent were cutting back on driving

· 57 percent thought seriously about getting a car with better gas mileage

· 54 percent were cutting back other spending

· 24 percent started car pooling or sharing a ride

· 11 percent said they started using mass transit more often
