DEP Invites Comments, Sets Public Hearing On Meeting 2008 Lead Standard
|
The Department of Environmental Protection published a notice June 9 inviting public comment and of public hearings on potential revisions for Pennsylvania’s State Air Quality Implementation Plan covering infrastructure requirements to meet the 2008 federal lead pollution standard. This SIP revision, generally referred to as the ''Infrastructure SIP,'' describes basic elements including ambient air quality monitoring, emission inventories, enforcement of control measures, modeling, nonattainment new source review, prevention of significant deterioration and stationary source monitoring. The SIP revision does not impose new emission controls or requirements. DEP will hold a public hearing on the proposed SIP revision on July 10 at 1:00 at DEP’s Southcentral Regional Office in Harrisburg. Comments are due by July 13.
