Cong. Peterson Introduces AML Fund Reauthorization Legislation

This week Congressman John Peterson (R-PA) introduced House Resolution 2721 in Congress that would reauthorize the fee funding the federal Abandoned Mine Reclamation Fund.

In April, through the efforts of Peterson and Pennsylvania’s two U.S. Senators Specter and Santorum, Congress extended the fee funding the AMR Fund through September 30 of this year, after an earlier temporary extension. (PaED 4/8/05)

HR 2721 is cosponsored by several members of Pennsylvania’s House Delegation in Congress including— Representatives English, Gerlach, Hart, Kanjorski, Schwartz, Shuster, Holden, Platts and Sherwood—who have been working together to push reauthorization.
