Three upcoming workshops will focus on integrated watershed planning and the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) water quality planning process.

Watershed Planning: On June 25 the Water Environment Federation will host a "Strategies for Implementation Using Integrated Watershed Planning" workshop in Philadelphia for groups that received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 319 water quality grants.

The WEF and EPA are developing a new training program for those involved in the design, review, and implementation of watershed-based plans in support of activities funded under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.

TMDL Conference: The Water Environment Federation is also sponsoring a TMDL conference in Philadelphia on June 26-29 along with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements of the Clean Water Act play a pivotal role in how and if the United States meets its clean water goals. Recognizing its importance and the continually evolving nature of the TMDL program, WEF, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association, is sponsoring TMDL 2005.

Chesapeake Bay TMDL Workshops: The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is sponsoring a workshop on Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements in Adams and Lancaster counties with two tracks-- one for agricultural interests and one for municipalities.

The workshops will be held June 27 in Adams County and June 29 in Lancaster County, both at the conservation district offices.

The intended audience is conservation professionals, municipal officials, engineers, agricultural landowners and other interests concerned with water quality and streams.
