Recycling Markets Center Partners On New Energy Management Program

The Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center, Inc. Friday announced a new energy management partnership with Empowered Municipality.

The RMC is charged to assist the demand-side of recycling markets, and as such, the energy management program is targeted to support reduction of energy costs in recycled materials processing operations and in manufacturer of recycled content products.

“In facilitating control of energy costs in recycled materials processing and recycled content product manufacturing, the RMC and Empowered Municipality are providing a service that can help to stabilize the day-to-day operations of these facilities,” said Robert J. Bylone, Jr., Executive Director, Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center, Inc.

Empowered Municipality, working with National Energy Brokers Organization, provides utility bill and rate analysis, as well as contracting of energy consumption with retail electric providers.

The RMC is equipped to provide on-site energy assessment services for the recycling industry, including review of process and systems energy consumption common to the industry.  Highlighted assessment programming includes materials conveyance analysis, motor functions, lighting assessment, and other mechanical systems performance.

Combined, Empowered Municipality and the Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center, Inc. are providing a spectrum of energy support services and are excited to grow the future partnership.

Empowered Municipality supports programs that educate consumers, communities, and businesses about the energy-recycling connection.  Not only can energy costs potentially be reduced, there may be opportunity for energy rebate of the power usage that could help defray costs of recycling programming.
