Great Lakes Engineer Training Symposium August 27-27 In Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Post of the Society of American Military Engineers is hosting the 2012 Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Joint Engineer Training Symposium August 27 – 29, at Sheraton Station Square, in Pittsburgh. 

The theme of the technical sessions is energy, with prominent speakers on hydropower, geothermal, solar, wind, and nuclear energy, as well as energy conservation topics on net zero energy and water, green buildings, LEED, and co-generation. 

The symposium will also feature a shale gas panel moderated by Richard Stafford, Distinguished Service Professor of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University and distinguished panelists: Scott Perry, Deputy Secretary of the PA-DEP Office of Oil and Gas Management ;  Wayne Gardner, Commissioner with the PA-PUC; Pete Miller, Water Resources Manager with Range Resources; and Robert Garland, Senior Technical Advisor with Universal Well Services.
