Symposium On Health Effects Of Fracking Sept. 21 In Philadelphia

Delaware Valley Grantmakers and The College of Physicians of Pennsylvania are pleased to present a Symposium on the Health Effects Of Hydraulic Fracturing September 21 at 8;30 a.m. at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia 19 South 22nd St., Philadelphia.

The program will feature a presentation by Robert E. Oswald, PhD and Michelle Bamberger, DVM, on their recently published article, "Impacts of Gas Drilling on Animal and Human Health,” as well as a panel discussion with Raina Rippel of the Southwest Pennsylvania Environmental Health Project and David Carey, PhD, Director of Geisinger Health System's Weis Center for Research.

Ms. Rippel will offer perspectives on what the project has learned so far about the health impacts of hydraulic fracturing in Pennsylvania, while Dr. Carey will discuss how Geisinger is using data to help understand the health effects of these activities in the communities it serves.
