Sign-Up Now For Recycle-Bowl, Greensylvania Paper Award Competitions

The Professional Recyclers of PA, Keep PA Beautiful, and Keep America Beautiful have teamed up to present the Recycle-Bowl featuring the Greensylvania Paper Award ... and they could be your ticket to recycling success!

The Recycle-Bowl and Greensylvania Paper Award competitions were created to provide students with a fun, interactive way to learn about waste reduction and environmental responsibility through in-school recycling. And we're making it easy for schools to register by simply going to one location: Recycle-Bowl's website.

"Greensylvania Paper Award" is intended to assist schools in Pennsylvania during the implementation and/or enhancement of their recycling program and waste stream reduction efforts, and to generate enthusiasm among students and faculty for recycling at school, home, and at special events.

The Greensylvania Paper Award will be conducted on a "Per Capita" basis to allow schools of all sizes to participate. The program is intended to include the faculty, staff, students, building managers, and custodial staff. The competition will be conducted from October 15 through November 9; and the award will be announced in conjunction with America Recycles Day.

Keep America Beautiful's, second annual "Recycle-Bowl" is a comprehensive nationwide recycling competition for elementary, middle and high-school students. At the close of the Recycle-Bowl competition, the school in each state that collects the most recyclable material per capita will win $1,000.

A Recycle-Bowl national champion will then be chosen from among the statewide winners to receive an additional grand prize valued at $2,500. Educational recycling activities will also be provided on-line and through a registration toolkit.

Both competitions run from October 15 through November 9, culminating around America Recycles Day. Go get 'em, Pennsylvania!
