Dec. 18 Webinar On Managing Water Wells, Springs Near Gas Drilling

Bryan Swistock, a Water Resources Specialist with Penn State Extension in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management will present a 60-minute webinar on December 18 from noon to 1 p.m. The webinar will provide an update on similar webinars that have been presented over the past five years. The webinar will initially cover basic private water system management strategies before discussing specific topics related to natural gas drilling. Most of the webinar will be devoted to discussing updated regulations to protect groundwater supplies during drilling along with chain-of-custody water testing, and a summary of some recent research related to both baseline and post-drilling water quality in groundwater supplies near gas drilling sites.
